3 Tequilas Mexican Restaurant

Overview:

Three Tequilas Mexican Restaurant is a sit-down family joint in Kill Devil Hills NC. Here you can get a wide variety of Mexican food. Given their name, they do specialize in large margaritas and different alcoholic drinks.

The Food:

The restaurant gives you generous portions of chips and salsa to start your meal off. We got the table-side guacamole as an appetizer. They wheel a cart directly to your table and ask you exactly what you want in the guacamole. For entrees, we got the El Pastor Tacos and the Pina Loka. The El Pastor had pork roasted with pineapples, onions, cilantro, and a spicy sauce. I thought the Pina Loka is an interesting entree as it's a pineapple full of a fajita mix. With different meats, onions, and spices. 

Service:

I thought the service at 3 Tequilas was average. Our waiter and server who made the guacamole were nice. However, the kitchen was slow and it took an hour to get the food out. This was too long and it made the flow of the meal from the chips and appetizers to the entrees too long. 

Atmosphere:

3 Tequilas has a standard atmosphere that you find at most Mexican restaurants. There is a bar that blends drinks right in front of you. There are two dining rooms one to the right, and the other to the left.

Overall, Three Tequilas is a decent Mexican restaurant. I thought the food and drinks were the best part of the place. However, the wait time for the food was an hour and way too long. The inside of the place and the overall atmosphere is also just average as well. However, if you have a hankering for Mexican food in the Outer Banks, this might be the place you want to go to.
