Mezcal Mexican Cantina 

Overview:

Mezcal Mexican Cantina is a small Mexican restaurant located right on Butler Street in Lawrenceville. They offer traditional Mexican food and great drinks. We decided to go during happy hour when they had good deals on chips with dip and drinks!

The Food:

Mezcal Mexican Cantina has outstanding Mexican food with authentic taste! To start off the meal, we got chips and guac and a few margaritas. I got the chicken Al pastor bowl and it was delicious! The spices and mix ins accentuated the chicken. It had pineapple, Spanish rice, and black beans as well. The rest of my group got the quesabirria and the torta ahogada. Of the two, I thought the quesabirria was better because if the slow cooked beef and crispy shells. It also has a broth dip that makes it even more flavorful.

Service:

I think the service here at Mezcal was nice. We went during happy hour and we were the first ones there. Our waiter was great and got us our drinks and chips quick. Also the food came out quick shortly after. 

Atmosphere:

Mezcal’s atmosphere is also really cool. The wall design when you walk in has the restaurant's name on it. Where we sat there was also a cool flower and leaf design with sparkling lights.

Mezcal Mexican Cantina is an excellent choice for a quick bite and drinks or a full sit down experience. I like their happy hour a lot with discounts on their drinks and chips with dip. The prices were reasonable and for a little more than Taco Bell or Chipotle you get real Mexican food.
