Just Rolled Up
Overview:
Just Rolled Up is a food truck in the Pittsburgh area that serves up fresh sushi, poke bowls, and unique sushi burritos. They are usually posted at local breweries but you can also book them for a private event. You can check out Just Rolled Up's schedule to see where they are during the week. Just Rolled Up's website says you can order on Uber Eats, or online. However, the best way to get their food is to order at the truck window wherever they are parked.
The Food:
Chinook N'at Roll |
The first thing that caught my attention on their menu was the chinook n'at roll. It is New Zealand-raised king salmon and avocado. The salmon was rich and buttery, while the avocado was creamy and perfectly ripe. I think you tell the New Zealand salmon is high quality and it makes for a great roll.
California Ave Roll |
We also got the California Ave roll. This has crab stick, avocado, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. This was one of the best California rolls I have tried before and the freshness of all the ingredients is what made it outstanding. The inclusion of the eel and spicy mayo sauces added to the crab and avocado.

This dish is the sushi burrito. I did not order it on my first visit here, but I wanted to highlight what it looks like. I pulled this image of the Jack 'n Yellow burrito from Google Maps. This burrito has yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, avocado, jalapeno chips, organic greens, and wasabi mayo. I will definitely try this on my second visit to Just Rolled Up!
Service:
Just Rolled Up was parked at the Grist House Brewery in Millvale when I got their food. We ordered the two rolls and the workers in the truck said it would take about twenty minutes. It was not bad since there was plenty to do at Grist House like grab a drink or snack in the meantime. Our food was ready in less than twenty minutes even though they had other orders to make first. The workers were friendly and there were napkins and chopsticks right at the window to take.
Atmosphere:
Just Rolled Up's atmosphere is unique since it is a food truck. The feel of the place depends on where the truck is parked for the day. We tried it in front of the Grist House, which had a lively outdoor beer garden setting. However, the truck itself is brightly colored and well-decorated. I also took a picture of the menu which is listed below with the various items on the menu.
Rating: Excellent |⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐|
Just Rolled Up is a great place to check out in Pittsburgh if you like sushi and food trucks! The ingredients they use in all the food is fresh and delicious. I thought the salmon was some of the best I have ever tasted. They also serve unique dishes like sushi burritos which combine Mexican cooking techniques with Japanese ingredients. I thought the service was friendly and the atmosphere was great being parked next to the Grist House.
