Qdoba (South Side)

Overview:

Qdoba Mexican Eats is a large chain of Mexican restaurants that have locations throughout the US. I visited the last remaining location in Pittsburgh which is situated in the Southside of the city. The other Qdoba locations all closed after newer chains such as Chipotle and Moe’s expanded into Pittsburgh and taking it’s business. 

Qdoba offers bowls, burritos, quesadillas, tacos, salads, and various sides. The Southside location is open from 11-10 Monday through Saturday. Then on Sunday they are open from 11-9. Qdoba has plenty of ordering options. You can order in-person, online for pickup, or delivery. Qdoba partners with DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and even Postmates. 

The Food:

Steak Quesadilla 

I ordered the steak quesadilla at Qdoba which I thought was very good. It had marinated steak with a greatly spicy seasoning on it. The toppings were all included in the price so I got queso and guac with the quesadilla at no extra charge. I decided to also add veggies and cheese. Once you choose all your toppings they press the quesadilla on the grill to give it a char and make the tortilla crispy. On the side you get a generous portion of chips and a dip of your choice.

Service:

The service here was pretty good. All the workers were friendly and helped me understand the confusing menu. I did not understand the different combos or meal deals you could get. They make sure you have everything you need before ringing you up. 

Atmosphere:

The inside of Qdoba was pretty standard. It looked like any other fast casual Mexican restaurant that is going for a minimalistic approach like Chipotle. There were only a few people eating inside so it was not too busy or loud.

With convenient ordering options and generous portions, it's a great spot for a quick bite or a satisfying meal.
