Overview:

Wise Country Cafe is restaurant situated on Galveston Ave in the Northside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The restaurant is best known for its homemade biscuits which they use for biscuits and gravy along with various breakfast sandwiches. They are open from 7:30-2:30 Wednesday through Monday and closed on Tuesday. Currently, they do not have online ordering or delivery. However you can call ahead and place an order for pickup. There is also a small dining room, but it does fill up quickly especially on the weekend.

The Food:

Sallie’s Snack
Sallie’s Snack

I tried Wise around lunchtime and got a simple biscuit sandwich and potatoes. The Sallie’s snack included a biscuit with pimento cheese, chow chow, and a fried egg. It did not say on the menu, but I believe the chow chow is pickled onions or radishes. The sandwich overall was delicious and the pimento cheese complimented the egg and the rich buttery biscuit.

Service:

The service at Wise was pretty good. I ordered right at the counter and the workers were friendly and took my order. I waited by the counter for about 10 minutes for my food to be ready.

Atmosphere:

The inside of Wise was designed like an old country store with things to buy on the right wall. You can also sit down and eat at the tables in the middle or the cozy couches near the windows.

Rating: Good |⭐⭐⭐⭐✩|

Wise Country Biscuits & Cafe is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch if you are in the Northside. They have a variety of biscuit sandwiches and sides to order. I thought the restaurant was good overall but the only thing I noticed was the prices were on the high side. My sandwich was $9 and to add potatoes it was an additional $3. Still though, Wise is a good place to try if you are in the area just be prepared to wait if you go on the weekend.
